Toshiba presents two new Satellite laptops, the A500 and U500. The Toshiba Satellite U500 is a more portable version, packing 13.3-inch (1280 x 800, 16:10 format) display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 GB of RAM, 500GB of hard drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 GPU and weighs just under 4.5 pounds and has battery life of over 3.5 hours.

The other is Toshiba Satellite A500 with 16-inch (1366 x 768, 16:9 format) display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD GPU (up to 1GB DDR3 VRAM), 8GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD or 64GB SSD, Harman Kardon speakers and TV-tuner for both analog and digital DVB-T programming. Both include wide format HD webcam, multi-touch trackpad, DVD Super Multi drive and the usualconnectivity options Bluetooth 2.1, WLAN, 5-in-1 media card slot.

Both will be available next month in Europe with starting price of €699 (approx. $975).
