Ricoh has announced a new dust proof and water resistant (1m depth) camera. It’s also freezeproof (40 C to -10 C) and shockproof ( it can survive fall from up to 1.5m). This new G600 10-megapixel camera features a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD, 52MB internal memory, ISO 3200 capability and it also shoot VGA video at 30fps.

Samsung launched three new cameras. First in the line is i80. I80 is a new 8.1 megapixel compact digital camera with a large 3.0” Intelligent LCD Screen and 3x optical zoom. Other important features of the i80 are PMP (Personal Multimedia Player) with integrated MP3 player, Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition Technology which detects the subject’s face, Samsung Digital Image Stabilization system and ISO3200 high sensitivity support so images remain crisp and detailed even without a flash. The Samsung i80 will be available in April 2008. The price is yet unknown.

                                                                                 

Second is i100 new 10.2 megapixel compact digital camera with 3 inch LCD screen and 3x optical zoom. It is equipped wiht all important features as i80 and it has more. It features an in-built ‘World Tour Guide’ function which provides instant access to travel information covering 30 countries and Dual Image Stabilization technology (OIS, DIS). So you will always know where are you and you’ll be able to take a picture of yours friend in a low-light or shaky conditions. You can expect i100 in May 2008.

The high-performance, stylishly designed S1060 is third in the line. It features, 5x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom and ISO1600 and a 2.7in LCD screen and the Samsung Digital Image Stabilization system and Face Detection and Movie Recording etc. The price and availability are yet unknown.

 

During the CES 2008 Kodak has revealed its range of EasyShare cameras, digital cameras designed for the average user who wants to have a camera easy to use and to make quality photographs.

On one hand we have the Kodak EasyShare V1273, which has a camera sensor 12 megapixels, LCD touch screen and a 3-inch sensor with a 3x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Kodak EasyShare M1033, camera also has a 3x zoom and a 3 inch screen, but in this case only holds 10 megapixels.

And finally we have the Kodak EasyShare Z1085 IS zoom camera that has a 10-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom lens and optical image stabilization. They also revealed other models like the Kodak EasyShare M763, M863 and Kodak EasyShare the Kodak EasyShare M893 IS, we do not know when they go on sale and much less at what price.

If you are looking for a compact average camera that serves you to capture the daily life then this is something for you. Two low-end compact cameras is what Samsung presented us. Samsung S860 has 8.1 megapixels and Samsung S760 has 7.2 megapixels, that and the price is only difference between them.

Both the Samsung S860 as the Samsung S760 have: 3x optical zoom, 2.4 inch LCD to focus and verify the results of our shots, facial recognition system and 11 different shooting modes. They also have digital image stabilizer, the possibility of recording video VGA at 30 frames per second with resolution 640 x 480 pixels.

The cameras have a simple photographic edition system that allows changing some basic effects (large, brightness, contrasts, red eyes, etc). The cameras will be made available for sale from January 2008. The Samsung S860 will cost $180, while Samsung S760 $170.
