What we see in the picture is a monitor that supports resolutions of 2880 x 900 with rear DLP and lighting OLED, and has a time response of 2 milliseconds. Some have suggested that having to detail the monitor live (not in the picture above) can be seen lines of various union panels. In Alienware they say they will put it for sale during the second half of this year, and they didn’t reviled the price yet but it’s most likely that is not within reach of most consumers.

That , like the article says , is reviled! How horribly vile!

With the price likely being crazy-high, they’re going to have to do something about that resolution. Hopefully that’s just the specs on the prototype.

0.02 milliseconds? I’m sure that is meant to be 0.02 seconds, or 2 milliseconds.

Well it does say 2 millis, however the resolution would be perfectly fine in my opinion; anything bigger than my 1440×900 is fine by me.

LOOKS GOOD, SAVES ON THE EYES. ALSO IT REMINDS ME OF THE ZENITH BACK IN THE EARLY EIGHTIES. THE ZENITH ZOOM LENS T.V. THAT FIT IN THE CORNER LIKE A HALF MOON T.V.. YOUR NEW SCREEN WOULD BE GREAT. ESPECIALLY ON SAVING ON THE EYES, IF ITS ABOUT 15 FEET AWAY. IF I WAS RICH I’D BUY A DOZEN.

Ok… If it’s not capable of more than 900 pixels vertically it’s not worth it… my resolution is 2560×1024 (occasionally larger) and I can’t imagine working productively with much less.

It’s not rear projection, its LCDs as can be seen from the back in other photos. Alienware have confirmed that the issue were devisions can be seen between the panels at certain angles will be resolved before its released. As for resolution, I have no idea if its going to increase.

This is NOT an LCD display, its a rear projection DLP with LED illumination. I would prefer my old CRT to this garbage monitor.

It says its DLP in the article which is a variety of projection. It means its being projected through an LCD. So your both sorta right. I think its cool and the resolution is fine it just has a short hight but a long width resolution. You can accomplish this with a matrox triplehead2go. Some people use actual projectors with it to accomplish this same effect but at a much larger size. I am working on such a project.
