As we already reported, Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer will retire by the end of next summer and he won’t get retirement payout from Microsoft. According to Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is in active hunt for new CEO and has already made some interviews with potential candidates, because the company wants to name new CEO by the beginning of 2014. List of potential CEO candidates include:
- Oracle Corp.’s President Mark Hurd
- Nokia’s Stephen Elop
- Ford Motors Co.’s Alan Mulally
- 2 Microsoft’s executives (Tony Bates and Satya Nadella)
- 5 outside executives
Microsoft will be facing tough decision, because no candidate has all skills needed to cover all of Microsoft’s basis. The head of Microsoft’s search committee is John W. Thompson.
