It’s official that Nirvanix is shutting down its business. The cloud storage company was trying to play in the pure storage business, but this market became increasingly commoditized by Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine and Windows Azure. They have all been engaging in a price war and Nirvanix couldn’t offer no service on top of its storage, that’s why it couldn’t survive. The company has already closed its website, leaving just a statement and information how to get in touch with customer support. Nirvanix is putting its resources behind helping customers successfully move their data to different services, but customers need to actively participate in getting their data off the Nirvanix infrastructure.
