Toyota Camry Crash

76 year-old Jean Bookout was driving 2005 Camry in Oklahoma when the car started to accelerate and the driver even used emergency brake to try to stop the car. Her passenger Barbara Schwarz has died in that accident. In this specific case, Toyota lawyers argued that Bookout have hit the gas rather than brake. But her attorneys argued that there were 150 ft of skid marks at the scene of accident. Toyota agreed to pay the driver and survivors of passenger $1,5 million each after $3 million jury verdict and after it was due to start consider if Toyota would pay additional punitive damages to the victims. But according to financial filings, Toyota is still facing over 700 unintended acceleration cases.
