Twitter

Twitter is working together with startup U2opia Mobile from Singapore to make Twitter service available to users, who have entry level mobile phones without possibility to access the web. The company is present in 30 countries and currently offers Fonetwish service, which helps access Facebook and Google Talk without data connection. According to U2opia Mobile co-founder and CEO Sumesh Menon, the service will be available in the first quarter of 2014 but unfortunately the company uses USSD protocol (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) that doesn’t allow to view pictures, videos or any other graphics. Users will just dial simple code to get a feed of the popular trending topics on Twitter.
